Our frame is a ground-up Shadow Systems design, not a rebrand of another frame already on the market. Our tooling uses new technology to wrap more texture around the curves of the frame and put the grip in places not normally seen on production guns. The slide and barrel are machined in-house in Plano, TX. Barrels are 1-10″ conventionally rifled 416R stainless steel. Smith&Wesson's M&P15 Sport II rifle is the ideal modern sporting rifle. It features a threaded 16" barrel with an Armornite finish. It has also has a fixed black stock, QD sling swivel attachment point, and a gas block with an integral Picatinny style rail. This model also features a 10 round magazine, dust cover, and forward assist.
Finally bound for US soil, this variant of the Shadow 2 is pre-cut for an optic plate system to allow the mounting of a red dot sight. Just as the standard Shadow 2 has become the gun of choice for many USPSA Production Division competitors, the Shadow 2 Optics-Ready is ideal for USPSA Carry Optics.
The Shadow 2’s swappable mag release has an adjustable, extended button with three settings to allow shooters to set it in the spot most comfortable for them. Best of all, new trigger components give smooth DA and crisp, clean SA while drastically reducing trigger reset. A hardy nitride coats the entire pistol, leaving it nearly impervious to corrosion, while the frame gets an additional layer of black Polycoat finish. Thin blue aluminum grips have healthy checkering to match the fine front and backstrap checkering of the pistol itself. The M&P15 Sport II Optics Ready (OR) rifle removes the A2 front sight post, and is equipped with a picatinny-style rail, allowing you to mount a large variety of optics and accessories to your rifle. While the standard M&P15 Sport II comes with a Magpul standard flip-up sight and an A2 post, this model gives you the option to add an optic or sight of your choice. Flat-top rifles, like this one, offer more customization that the AR-15 shooters of today demand.
The M&P15 Sport II OR rifle also includes a Dust Cover and Forward Assist. Other features include a 6-position telescoping stock, 7075 T6 Aluminum receiver and 4140 Steel barrel with a 1 in 9” twist.
